Funded by the City of Sydney in 2020 as part of SugarFest, this embroidery and applique instruction booklet has been designed by Lisa Christensen of Three Branches Design in Melbourne.  Suitable for beginners to advanced stitchers, the 12 page booklet provides detailed information about Australia's Slave Trade history of blackbirding, the Australian South Sea Islanders Port Jackson, the development of our collaboration and instructions on how to stitch.

It also includes colour images of motifs, instructions to stitch and templates for you to create a frangapani, hibiscus, cane sugar plant and turtle motif.  These motifs will be included in our first quilt project which will be donated to the Museum of Australian Democracy in 2023.
