The Needlewoman

This textile sculpture is part of my ongoing spirit doll collection started in 2011.  This particular work is very dear to my heart.  She has kept me company in my studio for many years and now it's time to set her free to give inspiration to another creative being.  The doll is made from felt, wool tops, thread, buttons, knitting needles, silk yarn.  She represents the internal mother who can hold us and help our wounds feel more bearable. Maybe it seems that she can stitch us back together and help us feel more whole again.  This work is dedicated to my therapists who have helped me to feel more whole over this journey.

The dimensions of this work are 12 cm x 5  cm x 4 cm.
