This original embroidery is made using a combination of new and vintage fabrics appliqued and hand stitched to create this symbol representing transformation inspired by psychoanalyst Dr Carl Jung. It features a Mother and Baby Deer in the centre and has been framed in Tasmanian Oak by Fogelbergs Conservation Framers.
I created this work during the 2020 Bushfires and was reflecting the power of fire to transform our inner and outer landscape so that we are inevitably different after it's visitation.
The framed size of this artwork is 35cm x 35cm x 5.4cm. Although designed to hang on a wall, this artwork looks terrific sitting on a table or shelf due to the width of the framing.
