This quirky textile sculpture is part of my spirit doll collection, initially started around 2011. My first solo exhibition in 2013 included 30 of these dolls and I have continued to make them since on occasions. This artwork is one of a pair and the other work is titled Knot There. This doll is made from felt, wool tops, wool, cotton fabric, thread, found objects and feathers. I like the idea that the knot is a symbol for the conflicts or overwhelming feelings we hold inside of us. That we are all knotted up to some degree. I enjoy the thought that this work could inspire acceptance of these wounds which could lead to them untangling....eventually!
The dimensions are 24 cm x 13 cm x 4 cm.
